About the Role
Reliable services are core to how QuiverAI delivers product value. We are looking for a Backend Engineer who can maintain and improve the services behind our application and API platform as they scale.
You will work closely across research, product, and design to turn strong technical ideas into dependable product outcomes.
Our core team is in San Francisco, and we also hire remotely across the United States and Europe. We are especially excited to meet candidates who want to work closely with the team in San Francisco, while staying open to exceptional people across supported locations.
What You Will Do
- Build, maintain, and improve core backend services.
- Design APIs and services that are clear, reliable, and stable over time.
- Support the systems behind both our application and external API platform.
- Improve backend performance and operational safety across critical paths.
- Partner with product and frontend engineers to deliver features end-to-end.
- Raise engineering standards for testing, observability, and release quality.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years building and operating production backend systems.
- Strong API design and data modeling fundamentals.
- Clear communication and practical debugging habits.
- Comfortable balancing delivery speed with long-term maintainability.
- Comfortable improving systems that sit on the critical path for both the product and the API.
- Motivated by ambitious scope, fast feedback loops, and backend systems other teams rely on.
- Experience with TypeScript-based backend stacks is a plus.
- Experience with billing, policy, or identity-critical services is a plus.
